Borouge Marketing - Laboratory Technician

Borouge Pte Ltd is now seeking an outstanding individual for the post of Laboratory Technician. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and reporting to Testing Lab Manager - Innovation Centre.
Role Purpose:
Perform routine tests according to standard known procedures and introduce results in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). Accountable for repair, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and ordering of spare parts. Contributes to equipment and method development in order to improve the way of working.

Contribution:
C1. Area or Responsibility:
• Responsible for follow up of inventory level of calibration standards, laboratory consumables (chemicals, glassware…) and utility gases. Coordinate re supply from the local ware house
• Responsible for housekeeping and waste handling in their respective section
• Participate to the start up and commissioning of new equipments
• Keep trouble shooting record for all the instruments
• Observes all necessary safety procedures and maintain awareness of others of current safe practices in order to avoid damages to personnel, assets and environment
• Interprets instructions and resolves less complex problems
• Do non routine analysis and special studies under the supervision of laboratory specialist and / or senior laboratory technician

• React promptly to specific operational problems seeking advices or referring the issue to an appropriate team member where necessary in order to guarantee the continuity of the operations.

Skills:
S1. Education
• Technician, operator or relevant technical degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or a related discipline
S2. Experience
• 1- 5 years relevant industrial experience
• Basic knowledge of plastics and laboratory equipments
• Communication, presentation, accuracy, maintenance, coaching
• English (reading, speaking, writing)
