GASCO - Technical Integrity Specialist

PURPOSE
The Technical Integrity Specialist will focus on effective implementation of GASCO’s Asset Integrity Policy, AIRMS Framework, especially in relation to the maintenance and inspection of the GASCO’s Plants and Pipelines. He will provide technical integrity input to projects.

BACKGROUND
The Technical Integrity Specialist reports to the Integrity Assurance Division Manager (IA), together with the Operational and Design Integrity Specialists, the Senior Integrity Assurance Advisor and the Senior Systems and Procedures Development Engineer. GASCO is a key element of UAE’s hydrocarbons chain and therefore plays a strategic role in the economy of the country. The gas processing and natural gas liquid (NGL) extraction operations take place at four onshore plants. The processed products are then transferred to GASCO’s Ruwais Fractionation Plant (NGL), to other plants and to industrial customers including Dubai, through a widely spread network of pipelines.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
To assure Structural Integrity by verifying that structural items such as Pipe Racks, Flare Stacks, Equipment Foundations, and Lifting Equipment are maintained in good condition.
To assure Process Containment by verifying that Inspection activities and their frequencies are adequate to ensure that risk of failure is acceptable.
To assure Ignition Control by checking that potential ignition sources like electrical enclosures, instrument junction boxes, light fittings, hot surfaces, vehicle exhausts, etc are inspected and maintained to the appropriate standards
To assure required availability of Protection, Detection and Shutdown Systems by positive verification that they are periodically tested and verified that are able to fulfill their intended function.
To ensure Mechanical Integrity by verifying that plant equipment operates within design envelope/parameters, and controls like documented routine inspections, Testing and Preventive Maintenance are being done on time.
To check that QA/QC measures are in place for ordering, receiving, storage, dispatching, and installation of maintenance materials and supplies.
To ensure that Management Of Change procedure is strictly being followed and all changes are evaluated and approved prior to the change taking place.
To participate in Root Cause Analysis to examine the management system of controls that should be in place to prevent operational or equipment deviations from occurring.
To carry out AUDITS as per AIRMS Framework

MAIN CHALLENGES
To ensure and verify that Technical Integrity is achieved across all Gasco Divisions.
To provide Technical Integrity advice and expertise as required.
