Mechanical Engineer
a. Plans necessary actions to ensure that maintenance and repairs for all Rotating machinery. Static equipment and Lifting equipment are carried out correctly to enable the operational objectives to be met.
Equipment include Gas Turbines, Compressors, Pumps, Diesel Engines, Fans and Blowers, Pressure Vessels, Piping and Valves, Heat Exchangers, Tanks, Cranes and Lifting equipment, Fired Heaters, etc.
b. Identifies particular problems areas and assess the effectiveness of current procedures for handling the problems promptly and efficiently.
c. Assists in developing preventive and routine maintenance schedules to ensure that equipment are maintained as effectively as possible.
d. Creates or modifies procedures as required, recommend changes depending on equipment performance and degree of breakdowns. Liaises with manufacturers where necessary to resolve equipment problems.
e. Diagnoses complex faults, analyzes malfunctions and breakdowns and recommends necessary modification to avoid reoccurrence of complex faults.
f. Receives requests from Sites for repair / overhauls and maintenance problems and equipment modifications. Organizes repairs with local and /or abroad workshops and contractors.
g. Prepares Scope of work for Contractors and review deliverables in engineering /modification/facility change jobs.
h. Handles facility change / facility expansion projects
