Job Details
Pilot Operations Leader: Basic Function: -Manages and leads the activities of Pilot Plant Operation Section to support evaluation and selection of catalysts. -Studies and evaluates new technologies on pilot plant and catalyst to contribute to the overall performance of TAKREER’s operation and research & development -Develops new catalyst technologies by cooperating with catalyst researchers and research institutions such as the Petroleum Institute PI and other research institutes. -Directs and leads research activities on new catalyst development with cooperation of catalyst researchers, PI and other international research institutions. -Initiates research activities on new technology within Takreer Research Center TRC and outside TRC. -Collects the state of art of information of the most advanced technologies and equipments and applies them to refineries and TRC. -Conducts various studies for TAKREER to apply a new catalyst technology. -Encourages and promotes TRC personnel to present technical papers to various conferences, exhibitions and scientific societies together with catalyst suppliers. -Collaborates with the academic group of people in the petroleum and refinery sectors, and Universities research institutes, etc. -Conducts and leads accumulation of technical information within TAKREER as well as from outside. -Provides technical expertise for effective and optimized operation of pilot plant units. -Cooperate and coordinates with catalyst researcher, process engineers, analysis & test staffs for pilot operation testing. -Provides technical expertise for design and development for new pilot plant units. -Provide expertise input tender packages for new pilot pant units. -Provides guidance in trouble shooting on pilot plant units. -Supervises and approves technical design and engineering packages performed by pilot plant suppliers. -Provides advice and assistance to TAKREER’s plant operation on catalysis-related issues based on pilot plant testing. -Evaluates the performance of catalysts used in refineries by using pilot plant. Reporting to the Chief Researcher at TRC, the job is of a critical nature in providing technical expertise for Catalysis/Reaction Engineering design and development of projects associated with petroleum refining/treatment and transportation. The incumbent should be able to develop design/technical specifications for pilot plant suppliers as well as scope of supply and tender documents. The job requires strong expertise to resolve/debottleneck pilot plant operating issues. Incumbent must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
